SUMMER ADULT & TEEN DANCE PROGRAM
5 week Teen & Adult summer session begins July 12th KIDDIE, JUNIOR,
DEE DANCE & DANCE TEACHER PREP These summer sessions were created to provide an additional performance opportunity for dancers at the holidays - something different than the many local versions of the Nutcracker and something that gives back to the community. Most dancers who begin in the Kiddie Dance program end up in the Dance Expressions Ensemble (DEE). The DEE performs exclusively for community charitable events including Project Santa every year. Note that there are no auditions required to be a DEE member. Participants in the summer sessions below may perform in our annual (free) Happy Holidays Concert in December which benefits area food pantries and the Toys for Tots campaign. Prior dance experience is necessary. Keeping summer vacations in mind, each program meets one week only from Monday to Thursday (DEE meets M-F with a sleepover and So You Think You Can Dance show on Thursday evening). The Kiddie and Junior sessions have a theme with corresponding art & craft projects. Past themes have included Swan Lake, Nutcracker and Carnival. We provide FREE rehearsals in the fall (schedule is approximately every other Friday beginning the end of September) to prepare for the show. Why participate? Dancers' benefits:
We strongly encourage all intermediate and advanced level daners to participate in this Boot Camp as it will prepare dancers for the fall session with technique classes and additional workshops to supplement and improve the dance experience. Classes include Ballet, Variations, Tap Rhythms, Flash Tap, Leaps, Pilates, Core Strength, Flexibility, Turns, Musical Theatre, Repertoire, Contemporary, Composition and Yoga. All composition participants will be invited to share their choreography at an in-house performance (Halloween Party, Holiday Concert, or other date TBS).
